Both men have great voices but often pick lousy material. For Rod "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", "Love Touch", and this "American Songbook" kick he's been on for the last few years are examples of his lack of judgement.

Tom Jones has indeed made some good records; "It's Not Unusual","Never Gonna Fall In Love Again", "She's A Lady" and more recently his version of Prince's "Kiss", but he's also made some godawful ones. "Delilah", "Detroit City", "Green, Green Grass of Home" are all showcase his tendency towards over blown ballads.

As to his accent, a lot of Americans were suprised to hear it when Tom's 1969-71 TV show (This Is Tom Jones)first came on the air. I remember my Mom was really suprised by it.JZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04830586696690222760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5771348888340911862.post-2443778177425126422011-04-28T08:47:56.599-04:002011-04-28T08:47:56.599-04:00You have to see Tom Jones live to get the full eff...You have to see Tom Jones live to get the full effect.
